About Us: Built to Outlast
From the Track to the Backcountry
Based in Port Alberni, British Columbia, Browns Outpost was born from a life lived where the pavement ends. As a heavy equipment repair specialist and the Vice President of the Alberni Valley MX track, my life has revolved around one thing: mechanical integrity. Whether I'm maintaining a motocross facility on Vancouver Island or navigating remote backcountry trails, I’ve seen firsthand how "standard" outdoor gear fails when pushed to the limit.
Industrial Standards for the Open Fire
I didn't design the ANVIL Grill to be just another backyard accessory; I engineered it to be a piece of professional-grade equipment. Drawing on my background in heavy-duty machinery and metallurgy, I used high-gauge carbon steel—the same material trusted in the world's harshest industrial environments—to ensure a lifetime of thermal stability and rugged use.
Our Commitment to Natural Quality
We believe that the best tools are the ones that work with nature, not against it. That’s why our gear is:
-
Surgically Clean: Every unit undergoes a specialized acid bath after production to remove all industrial impurities. This also gives every grill a unique heritage patina.
-
Naturally Seasoned: We pre-season our carbon steel with pure olive oil, creating a 100% chemical-free, non-toxic cooking surface right out of the box.
-
Over-Engineered: No enamel, no Teflon, and no synthetic coatings. Just raw, honest materials designed to be seasoned by the fire and passed down to the next generation.
Why Browns Outpost?
When you’re miles into the BC bush or cooking for the crew at the track, your gear shouldn't be a question mark. At Browns Outpost, we build the answers. We take the "over-built" philosophy of heavy machinery and bring it to the campfire, ensuring that every product we sell is as tough as the person using it.
